My speech on the NZ training centre opening ceremony of SJTU
My speech on the NZ training centre opening ceremony of SJTU
I have been in New Zealand for two months and this is my first time traveling out of China.
So I called mum for her advice. I said, “Mum, I’m leaving you for a year. Will you miss me? I asked her that question just like a little girl.
Now she sounds a little regretful. Yesterday we spoke by phone and she told me that she missed me very much and asked me when was I returning home.
To finish with, on behalf of all the MLAs from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, I would like to offer our sincere gratitude to our university for giving us this wonderful opportunity to come here to Auckland as a MLA. I would also like to thank Confucius Institute who let us pass the interview and for providing support and concern on our work and life. Thank you to all our schools in Auckland who gave us lovely children to teach, a great help in our teaching and for finding us kind homes and families to stay with. 再次感谢所有给予我们机会和支持的人,谢谢你们。

My 24's birthday in NZ-- great day for me
This year’s birthday is special for me. Today was my 24th birthday. It was the first time I had a birthday so far away from home and in a totally new country.
I had great fun today.
I spent the whole morning getting up, having a shower, making brunch with guidance from Sonya , then going to see Haiyan and Sifang in Westfield Newmarket. We went to the Body Shop for some makeup and then walked around the many shops on Broadway. Broadway is probably the only road we are familiar with for now lol .
In the afternoon, I took my friends to visit Maungawhau or Mt Eden. We had a really great time on the mountain.
The grass is so comfortable that we rolled down many times, look at the video and you'll know how much I loved it.
The wind was strong on the summit of the mountain. I did really want to go down the crater but I couldn’t because it is now sacred and no longer allowed :(
In the evening I was excited because I learned how to make my own pizza. That is thanks to Sonya, my nice home stay mum. Later on Sonya took me to the movies for my birthday and we watched "This means war". The movie was a truly funny, lovely, warm one. The best part that made me happy was that I could understand almost the whole movie without Chinese subtitles. I think I will try that on my computer because I have downloaded a lot of movies. Maybe I' will start from "The big bang theory ".
Thanks Sonya, Thanks all my friends, I had so much fun today. I loved my birthday in New Zealand. I hope to enjoy my stay here as well as do an excellent job on teaching as a Mandarin Language Assistant. Good girl , happy birthday and good night .
